Hypnotherapy can be used to treat a variety of things and this article from the BBC News website looks at how hypnotherapy has helped one particular man, Charles Sidi, 34, with his unpleasant symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

"It wasn't like the hypnosis you see on TV. I'd liken it to meditation, and it was very much linked to relaxation."

Through having hypnotherapy treatment for his IBS Charles is now able to hypnotise himself in order to relax as this keeps his IBS at bay. Charles also talks about the benefits hypnotherapy has had on other areas of his life:

"...The hypnotherapy isn't just about helping the IBS. It gives you a more positive mental attitude... The difference between before and after the treatment was remarkable."
